Breathy, Creaky, Modal or Error.

This program eases the manual classification of words between the aforementioned categories.

BCME presents an assessor with the spectrogram and waveform of a word, while playing back its corresponding audio. The assessor must classify the word, and continue with the following one until the whole corpus is finished. To avoid errors caused by fatigue, the program stops every hour for ten minutes, so the assessor can take a break. No judgements are lost even if the assessor closes the program and open it again. BCME will remember the last classified word and resumes where the assessor left.

Corpus preparation:

BCME reads a ".mat" file containing the whole corpus to classify. This file can be created with the "prepareData.m" script found in the source code repository. In addition, you need the "ReadPraatTier.m" file from the same repository.
